With this kitchen, our Client had a strong creative style and a real love for interesting materials.
They wanted their kitchen to tone with the outside of their extension, which was clad in Zinc.
The tall cabinets are finished in a Laminam ceramic material. Usually used for worksurfaces, this has a cement like finish and is extremely hard wearing.
For the base cabinets we chose a stainless steel effect metallic lacquer, which contrasts well with the warm reclaimed parquet floor and also tied in well with the dominant Mercury range cooker and extractor.
To balance all of these striking materials we chose a calming natural stone ‘Bianco Macaubus’ for the worksurface, bringing light and softness to the overall scheme. As this is a quartzite, it has the hard wearing nature of a granite worksurface but with the sweeping veins of a marble.
The Client then brought in colour and interest with their choice of chairs, table and feature lighting.
